BASS GEAR

MY BASSES

This is the BRAIN MOORE i5 boutique bass. It has active EQ some interesting features such as the recessed plug in-jack located in the back so the cable is hidden out of the way. It also has an LED that lights up next to the jack to indicate battery life. There is also LED fret markers that are a third party addition made by FretFX @ fretfx.com. The bass plays nicely and has a good tone!

I got this one from a guy in Poway California some years ago when Carvin was still in Business. It is a custom made one. I’ve played many gigs on this one! It’s a really nice bass and can play in passive or active mode.

This is a Fender Jazz bass I picked up from a guy in El Cajon California. He told me that he had custom pickups put on that were personally wound by friends of his at Seymour Duncan. He said he had this one on the road for about a year. It’s a good sounding bass with a definitely fat tone with the active EQ going!

This is the most custom one of a kind fretless you can get! Mainly because it was hand made by a guy I met in Arizona. It’s a passive bass but sounds really cool with the Seymour Duncans. This was an amazing find on Offer Up when I was in Phoenix recently. I had to have my buddy CJ Hutchins put a new truss rod in it because the original one was broken when I got the bass. CJ set up the bass as well and made it super nice to play! The guy that built this put a back cover on it that’s held on by magnets. Also a custom thumb rest and beautiful wood work around the pick ups.

He was nice to sign and date it personally for me. So cool! Thanks Bro I appreciate it!

AMPS AND EFFECTS

This pedal I got recently is is really a nice unit providing a great variety of tones and effects. It has stereo out capability and also Aux in and Headphone out making it great for practice as well!

I try to keep my setups light using the new NEO stuff and also very portable. The back of the little Ampeg PF500 has the XLR line out for the sound people to run me through the PA systems that also includes a ground lift. I’m concerned about stage levels with my setups. Don’t like to be too loud on stage. To me the stage mix is important and I like to hear what everyone is playing.

This is my skinny stack. Lol. I’m using 12 inch speakers each rated at 400 watts.

This is Frankie Stereosonus my experimental rig! He’s got six legs! Lol. The two powered speakers above are the Headrush 8 inch flat response units. These little guys produce 300 watts RMS each! I’m using this set up along with the Headrush pedal board to see what kind of wildness I can create! I can do looping with the board and create all kinds of weird wild stuff in stereo. It’s a conglomerate of a bunch of different stuff. Ha! We’ll see what happens!

B good! Lol..All my basses are 5 string. I got to have that low B string!
